IMPACT REPORT 2024 Londyn (17 months), and her parents: Kiera & Richard Read their story on page 7OUR MISSION To offer a community of compassion, support, and the comforts of home to families with critically ill children, near the medical care they need, with the family they love. 2A MESSAGE FROM SANDY Chair Beth Rosenwald Immediate Past Chair Steve Martin Vice Chair Scott Canuel Development Committee Co-Chairs Bill Paterakis Stacey Ullrich Secretary Dr. Vanessa Paterakis Treasurer Christopher Mann At Large Executive Members Elisa Mintz Delia Mark Furr Melissa Nigro Board Members Jessica Beaver Danitra Bell Dave Bergman Dave Bramble Judy Cohen Matthew L. There’s a lot of noise in the world right now, and a lot of it is hard to hear. And yet, inside the doors of the Ronald McDonald House on Aisquith Street, what you hear are the sounds of laughter, love, and maybe even a therapy dog. You hear joyful children from all over the world happily playing with each other despite their medical challenges. You hear dishes clinking as families are nourished mentally and physically by a hot meal prepared by caring volunteers. And sometimes, the loudest things make no sound at all…a hug, a smile, a knowing glance, or a nod. Loud or quiet, what reverberates throughout RMH every day in every way is love and community. Enjoy this Impact Report. I hope that when you are done reading it, what you hear loudest from us is a big “THANK YOU!” for lifting your voice (and heart) to support the families and children who come through our doors each year. With love and gratitude, Sandy Pagnotti President & CEO, RMHCMD 3 Thank you to our incredible volunteer Board of Directors. Toread more about them, visit our Board webpage. PPROM is a pregnancy complication where the amniotic sac breaks before 37 weeks of gestation. Londyn was born three months prematurely, weighing only 2 pounds, with a list of complications. We never would have thought this would become our reality. Despite all the odds up against her, Londyn continues to fight each and every day. Due to her premature arrival, Londyn was transferred to Baltimore to be seen at the University of Maryland Medical Center, over an hour away from our home. We knew we wanted to be by her side every step of the way and be as close as possible to her during this very critical time in her life. Londyn’s future is unknown to us, but we have held on to hope as she continues to fight. After a few days of sleeping in the hospital and traveling the distance back and forth to our home, we were introduced to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maryland, and we felt that our prayers had been answered! We had been drowning in the stress and concerns of traveling and not being by her side. We felt so blessed with the comfort and stability RMHC Maryland provided for our family. After being here for 517days, the Ronald McDonald House has truly become our second family and our home during this challenging time. Though times were dark for us in the beginning, RMH brought the light in the small ways that really mattered. Not only did we have a place to stay, with meals, transportation, and a sense of security, but we were also greeted with smiles and hugs upon arrival. The little things that brought us joy made RMH truly feel like home. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. RMHC will always be in our hearts. Kiera and Richard found a home-away-from-home at the Ronald McDonald House while their daughter, Londyn, spent 517 days in the PICU. Patient: Londyn Robinson (17 months), Mom: Kiera Cole, Dad: Richard Robinson This story was written by Londyn’s mother, Kiera Cole, who stayed at RMHC Maryland for 517 days, with her partner Richard. Londyn was transferred to Baltimore in January 2024, and they finally rang the good news bell and took Londyn home on June 15th, 2025. We are so happy for their family! 7$100,000+ The Kenneth S.
